A beautiful song can be heard over the rooftops of New York, and in the sunset it mixes with the background noise of the city. What nobody suspects: the musician is a blonde beauty, who is lightly dressed, enjoys the city and its music and gives herself completely to the moment. Sounds like a dream? That’s exactly it – a dream! A dream that the artist Frank Krüger captured on canvas with his work “Blues in NYC II“. And at the same time also a little provocation that is always a topic of conversation!
Blues in NYC at rush hour!
Anyone who has ever been to New York at rush hour knows the background noise that reigns there. The humming of the engines, the horns of the cars, the sirens of the ambulance, police and fire brigade, as well as all the other noises of the city mix into a carpet of noise that covers everything else.
The thought that this background noise is torn up by a beautiful blues seems just as beautiful as it is surreal. If this blues carries itself far over the roofs of the city, you can almost imagine how more and more people might lift their heads and try to find out where the wonderful melody originated!
A work of art with many details
Anyone who had the opportunity to see the work of art “Blues in NYC II” live at Galeria Frank Krüger was always enthusiastic about all the details. The view over New York is shown here so real and in detail that you simply cannot look away from it – even if the blonde beauty itself is of course an absolute eye-catcher. True to the Joe Cockers motto “You can leave your hat on”, she does without unnecessary clothing and only wears a hat, shoes – and of course her saxophone!
The alto saxophone is also another interesting detail. What many do not know: Frank himself plays the saxophone and his own instrument served as a template for the picture. The original chair on which the woman is sitting can also be found in Frank’s kitchen. It’s these little things that give pictures like this one that certain something and make them unforgettable.
A work of art that also provokes
What was particularly interesting about the work of art “Blues in NYC II” was the reaction it elicited from the viewers in the gallery. As already mentioned, many were enthusiastic about the details of the work – but the nude blonde seemed a bit provocative to one or the other. Some found it beautiful, others could not resist various remarks about the freedom of movement. This often resulted in a lively discussion among the gallery’s visitors. That is probably something that many artists want for their paintings.
But that’s not the only thing Frank Krüger can be proud of in the case of “Blues in NYC II”. The work of art has since been sold to a major collector in Germany. There, together with the work of art “Flamenco on Broadway“, it has found its place between autographed Picassos, originals by Warhol, Rizzi and other famous artists. An environment in which it fits wonderfully! Fortunately, “Blues in NYC II” is also available as an art print, so that it will soon be an eye-catcher for many conversations at home!
