The Statue of Liberty can be seen everywhere in the (social) media these days – often in connection with the currently incumbent President Donald Trump. For Frank Krüger, political statements are not everyday art, but they are also important and correct. Especially at this time (November 2020), when the elections in the USA were in favor of Biden, the values that the Statue of Liberty stands for are very relevant again.
The incumbent President Donald Trump did not always act according to these values during his term of office and, especially when it comes to immigration, pursued a policy that did not include a friendly greeting, but rather was supposed to create new walls. With the change of president, many hope that more humanity will return to the White House. In this case, the tear can also be seen as a tear of joy, which above all expresses hope.
