A love story between two Berliners, which is sealed with a wonderful wedding:: The artist Frank Krüger has been living on Mallorca for many years, where he dedicates himself with passion to his art. In 2004, a fateful encounter took place in Cala Ratjada on the beach of “Cala Agulla”, where Frank played beach volley ball every day. He saw Laura, he spoke to her and he immediately liked her. Frank: “After a few minutes, I knew she is the right one!”
Laura had completely different plans at the time. She was with a friend in Cala Ratjada and her boyfriend at that time wanted to join her a short time later. Now it was love for Frank at first sight. He convinced Laura with the words “You can call your boyfriend right away, he doesn’t need to come anymore”. Laura actually let go of her boyfriend and fell in love with Frank during this vacation. A love at second sight!
Love story takes its course
Frank: “Already in the first night together I knew that she would be the mother of my child. Although I had no children’s plans and actually did not want to enter into a relationship as a happy single.” This usually only happens in movies!
Laura then flew back to Berlin. There she ran a large fashion agency with her father. In 2009 the big step came and Laura emigrated to Frank in Mallorca. Laura: “We realized we belonged together and nothing can separate us anymore!” Their daughter was born in April 2006.
Frank made Laura a beautiful, romantic marriage proposal. On New Year’s Eve they were in the Abaco restaurant in Palma. At the fireplace under a rain of rose petals, Frank asked for the hand of his Laura. She said “yes”!
Frank of course wanted to get to know Laura’s parents, and so they invited Frank to eat boulettes on a visit to Mallorca. Meanwhile, Laura met in Berlin with Frank’s mother and Frank’s stepfather. An extremely rare and funny way of getting to know the parents-in-law.
A series of coincidences
Frank and Laura have always been very close unconsciously. For example, Frank had his Berlin apartment on the same street where Laura was working at the time. Laura lived in Charlottenburg and so did Frank’s mother, just five minutes away. Both are real Berliners and love Mallorca.
The wedding
It was a very spontaneous wedding. The two flew to Berlin, on the 50th birthday of Frank’s best friend. Then Laura had the idea: “Oh, if we are in Berlin, we can get married right away.” The registry office was contacted at short notice and there was actually an appointment free.
So, Frank and Laura married on April 17, 2015 in Berlin. The registrar lady could not really understand the situation because usually everyone wants to get married in Mallorca. But two Berliners want to get married in Berlin! Instead of classical music, the two danced to “Happy” in the registry office.
This year, 2020, they celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary in Mallorca and the love story continues. This day will be toasted @home will with a glass of sparkling wine.
