Every season has its charm in Mallorca – but autumn, and especially the month of October, is loved by many. When the light softens, the sunsets become more spectacular and the temperatures more pleasant, the season slowly ends and a completely different island reveals itself. Frank Krüger and his wife Laura also love this time and enjoy island life a little more than they already do!
October in Mallorca
The first loungers are being cleared away on the beaches, popular bars are inviting people to a closing party, and even some hotels are getting ready for the end of the season and are slowly closing their doors. With October, a different life is announced on Mallorca, because when the tourists are fewer, things are much quieter on the island. Especially after the very hot summer, everyone is visibly happy to be able to rest a little and now to use the beautiful beaches themselves.
Especially these days, when it is still pleasantly warm and according to the Mallorca Zeitung, the water temperature is currently even higher than on the Copacabana and in California! This invites you to spend a few nice hours at Cala Agulla or other bays and beaches. And if you like it more active, you will now find the best conditions for exploring the island, hiking and cycling. You can end the evening with a sundowner in a bar – or, for example, at the beautiful castle in Capdepera, which offers an incredibly beautiful view of the sunset! For many, the castle is a symbol of the start of a holiday. If you can see the old walls on the mountain, it’s not far to the resort of Cala Ratjada. Frank has already painted it – and it can easily be ordered as an art print via the shop!
Autumn on Mallorca is special
What makes autumn on Mallorca so special is the change in the mood of the light. Not only artists like Frank perceive the softer light – many visitors to the island are also always fascinated by the atmosphere that is created here solely by the light. The sunrises and sunsets are often spectacular with brilliant colors and the clouds for contrast. But the days seem almost “golden” in the sunshine and really enchant everyone who takes the time to perceive this change.
But it’s not just the light itself that creates great color effects. The fresh green that can be seen everywhere after the first rains of autumn also puts us in a good mood. In addition, there are the bright colors of the many flowers and bushes that are now blooming again. A real paradise for artists and so Frank also tries to be on the road a lot, to enjoy the island and to be inspired by the colors!
