How does the virtual opening of Galeria Frank Krüger come about? Frank’s fourth gallery was to open in Artà on April 13, 2020. The anticipation was great, the event had been planned through and many people had already received the invitation. However, nobody expected the Corona crisis. Since the state alarm has been in force in Mallorca since mid-March 2020. People on the island can only leave the apartment for shopping and working. So, Frank and his wife Laura had to find a solution for an opening without public access. The result was a unique, global, virtual opening of an art gallery.
The opening of the gallery took place as planned on April 13th at 6 p.m., just virtual. This made the art of the Artà gallery accessible to everyone, even beyond national borders. Frank and Laura were able to enjoy a large audience. People from Germany, Austria, Spain and Switzerland were involved. Inselradio Mallorca and the Inselzeitung had also informed about the event in this new format in advance.
Live broadcast of the opening
The event was broadcasted live on Facebook and Instagram. A 30-minute tour of the gallery in Artà was planned. Laura took over the camera work, while Frank guided the audience through the gallery. The interest in art was so great that the live show even lasted an hour.
The gallery owner Frank Krüger took the time to answer live many questions about the exhibits. For example, he introduced the various artists whose works the gallery exhibits, or described the materials used. The interest in the pictures and sculptures was enormous. The first works of art have already been sold during the live broadcast.

Feedback after the opening
The feedback from the audience was consistently positive even during the live broadcast. Also in retrospect, Frank and Laure were very happy to receive such positive feedback. The challenge of opening an art gallery without visitors on site was mastered with charm and creativity.
